Members, Maia Casna and Anna Davies-Barrett, are running a workshop to explore the effectiveness of new network-produced recording method
This year's British Association for Biological Anthropology and Osteoarchaeology (BABAO) annual conference will feature a workshop on a newly developed method for recording maxillary sinusitis, produced by the Network.
The workshop, taking place on Thursday 18th September on the University of Leicester campus, will introduce the new method to BABAO members. Maia Casna and Anna Davies-Barrett will ask the workshop participants to try out the method on archaeological individuals.
Network members have been working on this new method for a while now. We have concentrated on removing ambiguity of descriptions of bone changes within the sinuses and creating a flow chart to help in the diagnosis of sinus inflammation.
We're hoping feedback from the workshop participants will help to improve and refine the method, which we are aiming to publish by next year.
