Bruno M. Magalhães
I have been an archaeologist since 2005 and a biological anthropologist since 2013.
For the past decade, I have been working in funerary anthropology, biological profiling, palaeodemography, and palaeopathology (with particular focus on respiratory diseases).
My experience studying respiratory diseases in several Portuguese identified skeletal colections for my PhD thesis raised several methodological concerns on how a method should be established and replicated by other anthropologists.
I am currently an independent researcher working in Portugal on investigation projects such as “SAND – Sarilhos Grandes Between Two Worlds. Historical, archaeological and bio-anthropological study of a riverine population” and “The Archaeology, Genetics, and Heritage of the European Jewish Diaspora”.
Major respiratory-related research projects:
Nasal and sinonasal diseases and conditions in three Portuguese identified skeletal collections (19th-20th centuries)
